Periodontal Maintenance

Periodontal Maintenance ##CITY##, ##STABBR##

Treat repeated periodontal flare-ups.

When it comes to the fight against periodontal disease, it’s an ongoing struggle. Many people experience repeated infections to their gums, oftentimes due to enlarged pockets around their teeth. These pockets are more prone to trapping food debris and bacteria, leading to periodontal problems. When repeated periodontal flare-ups continue to occur, our office provides periodontal maintenance.

If you experience symptoms of periodontal disease such as red, sensitive, swollen, painful, or bleeding gums, then please call us at ##PHONE_PARENTHESES##. We can provide a periodontal assessment to determine what treatment is right for you and if you might be a good candidate for our periodontal maintenance program.

What does periodontal maintenance involve?

Patients who require a more diligent oral hygiene routine receive more frequent dental cleaning appointments. This is important because the severity of damage from periodontal infection increases exponentially as it progresses. We evaluate each patient to customize a schedule that fits their needs, with a goal of avoiding damage to teeth and gums while supporting overall general health.

What’s happens at the appointments?

Typically, we perform a deep cleaning (root debridement) to remove infection below the gum line. Our office will take measurements of pocket depth around your teeth, and perform scaling and root debridement to reduce buildup on teeth and prevent future infections. If you are experiencing painful, swollen, or bleeding gums, contact our office.
